The wind had really gotten up over night. At the top of the mountain it was gusting at 60mph. We’d begun to rely on a weather app Amy had found which had so far proved reliable and today it said the wind would be dropping later and the sun would be out. We weren’t disappointed.

We made our way up the Gondola and decided we would push out the further into parts of Grandvalira we hadn’t yet visited. Both Harrison and I took our cameras to try and get some footage.
Harrison was sporting his new jacket and balaclava which had the desired effect of limiting the cold related whinging. He also looked cool.

The snow also began to fade and the sun came out. It meant we could explore new parts of the mountain and increase the speed across the piste. After a couple of tumbles in previous days the boys seemed much more happy to follow us around. Harrison as he was more comfortable watching one of us ski it first to make sure it was safe. Callan wanted one of us behind him to pick him up should he get out of control and tumble!!
That being said, there were only a couple of minor spills. Harrison had a minor fall and when Callan went to help him he fell over too meaning I had to untangle them first and stop the blame game shouting episode that was going one when I arrived.
Other than that, no more falls for Harrison and his technique is looking really good. Nice confident parallel turns, he’s really starting to look the part. The only other fall was as Callan himself had predicted when he went too fast, got out of control and then fell onto the back of his skis. This left him careering at high speed before a final pirouette and a puff of snow.
We ended the day by doing a couple of circuits around the top of the Canillo gondola. Callan and I went off and had a quick blast from top to bottom and I was impressed his stamina held. Amy and Harrison stopped for a quick coffee and managed to get a photo of us coming back up the chairlift.

In this section is a slalom set up which was perfect for part of their snow sports challenge 3 badge with scouts. We set off with Amy filming at the bottom and me following them down. It was bread and butter for them now but did the trick for the task they were required to complete.
Waiting now for some more of that soup that the hotel provide for weary skiers and looking forward to our last day skiing tomorrow.
