Firstly, can I just say thanks to day for the text message at 2am (NYC time) about what the boys would like for breakfast when they stay with him and Gem.
Trip wasn’t too bad yesterday. Flight was really good and landed 30 minutes ahead of schedule. We found a minibus taxi that took us straight to our hotel which seems really nice. There are three bars and one of them had a jazz band playing, although now being 40, we went straight to bed (come on, it was equivalent to 2am at home).
After a bleary eyed start, we now have a plan. It feels like I’ve just done my first night duty, not a feeling i’m not used to but one I’m enjoying watching Amy experience….
After wondering where we would have breakfast we have found a Subway, Starbucks, McDonalds and Dunkin Doughnuts within about 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Starbucks it is.
The plan for today is to take in the World Trade Centre sight and then head for the Statue of Liberty. The weather is really good, sunny and warm so going to hit as much as possible as Amy is already flexing her big camera.
Really excited, Amy too, can’t wait to get started, so off we go…..
