There comes a point on any skiing holiday where getting out of bed becomes more difficult and today was the day.
The boys were beginning to look a bit jaded but after force feeding them pancakes for breakfast the sugar rush seemed to do the trick. Callan also worked out how to use google translate which meant he was loving going up to the hotel chef and saying “tienes panqueques por favor” (do you have pancakes please)

We also managed to work out how to use the ski app that tracks you through the mountains. It sits on your phone and gives you loads of stats. Amy has uploaded a short video of it below but we basically did over 30km during the day.
Harrison took to digging in the snow. This was despite me asking him not to get himself wet at the start of the day. That being said, it was freezing yesterday, at times -12 degrees so it meant the snow just fell off.

It also meant that as the snow began to fall and the wind began to howl that at the top of the mountain it was bitter. Drop down a bit and it’s fine, but sitting on the lift with a blizzard (not a dog reference) blowing across you was uncomfortable.
It usual style it meant that we needed to get Harrison a better balaclava and jacket. It didn’t take long to find a spiderman version and a really nice jacket which made him very happy.
So Callan didn’t miss out he was offered something to offset the jacket. He opted for some bubble gum from the machine in the ice rink….
Soup was ready at the hotel when we returned which was very welcome considering the chill. We sat in the hotel lobby by the fire with our chicken broth and watched the snow continue to fall. Less heavy than yesterday but still fairly persistent.
Tomorrow the weather is due to improve. Harrison has been desperate to try out his new camera so hopefully that will be the day for some video.
