We decided to try a traditional diner breakfast this morning and ended up at Scottys diner. We had a fantastic meal, French Toast with vanilla apple and fluffy pancakes with syrup, bacon, sausage, and eggs. It kept us going most of the day, and we needed it this morning.

From Scottys, we walked to Grand Central Station. The building is amazing, and Callan would love the ceiling with all the stars in constellations.

Harrison had been watching what was happening in New York on the live web cams. It was only right that we went and tried to appear on them.

Back to Times Square and fortunately there were two Starbucks and a McDonalds which meant we could face time to see where they were.
After much shuffling, success. Amy did a little dance that Harrison thought was hilarious which of course led to me having to do some Dad dancing as well. Just a little though.
The second Starbucks was huge and an opportunity to buy the city mugs that Amy had been craving.

Intrepid was the next stop on our itinerary. A retired US Navy Aircraft Carrier moored on the Hudson River.

The carrier was gigantic and came with the opportunity to see some of my favourite aircrafts, the F14 Tomcat and the Blackbird. As a bonus, which I hadn’t realised, was the Space Shuttle Enterprise. This was the first Space Shuttle that was used for testing but was so much bigger than I thought it would be. I had in mind that Space Shuttles were standard aircraft size but in fact they’re as big as an Airliner.
Next we sampled the wine in the hotel bar but quickly realised a second round would require extending the mortgage.

For dinner we went for the traditional American burger in a nearby diner. The food was lovely and who could go wrong with sweet potato fries.

One more part day to go. We have plenty more things we’d like to see so will do our best to get in as much as we can before we need to head for the airport.
