China – Day 1

OMG! What have we done? Can we go back to Singapore now??? After a 5 hour flight, it felt like it took almost as long to get to the hotel. WE were in this really old VDub, and they drive like maniacs, they are all over the road. Our driver couldn’t decide what lane to be in, so he just drove down the middle of the two lanes. It was quite scary. We went through a few different parts of the city, some worse then others, and we were relieved to get to our hotel. The hotel is not bad, pretty much anything would be a come down from the Pan Pacific. Rob’s feeling a bit queasy, so we’ll see if he manages to eat anything tonight. We’ve seen the tour manager, and we’re going out with the group this evening. I think they would have all met in London earlier. There’s 22 of us on this tour. Ther’es so much smog that I’ve already got a sore throat from all the fumes. I’m hoping it will be better when we get out of the city on the tour. It’s a lot colder here, about 15C, and much less humid.
