First full day in Phuket

First full day in Phuket

Phuket, Thailand

Today was the first full day in Phuket. We met with the tour rep this morning to decide what to do. The decison for today was to sit on the beach and be waited on. Someone has to make the tough calls. We started off first though by taking the boat around the resort. This you can use to get from one end of the hotel to the other without needing to walk. Nice when its been 32 degrees today. Apparently we’ve just missed a typhoon, but the weather is due to get even better over the next couple of days. We started off looking around a couple of shops in the shopping complex the boat took us to. From there we came back to our main resort and found a nice spot on the beach under a wooden woven brolly. We were quickly descended upon by people trying to sell us all sorts of local souvenirs and fabrics but we concentrated on the lady with the menu. The Thai people are incredibly polite and welcoming and she quickly arrived back with a couple of fruit cocktails and a smile. We spent lunch and the rest of the afternoon being served various drinks in fresh coconuts and hollowed out pineapples. The only disturbance was when the two baby elephants came and wanted to play football. Amy took some photos and crossed one back which Yum Yum threw a back leg at and missed. We then went and had a swim in the pool wearing our Risqué Boutique sexy bikinis which if you swim the entire length of the interconnecting pools is over 300 metres. We stayed in our bit and played a gentle game of water polo. We’re now contemplating what to have for dinner. I think we’ve probably both settled on Thai. I’m looking forward to tomorrow and the first of our excursions………. Oh, and Amy got a tattoo. Rob
